Fluid–Mineral Interactions: Controlling Coupled Mechanisms of Reaction, Mass Transfer and Deformation

چکیده
Abstract Fluid–rock interaction has profound effects on the dynamics of lithosphere. This Perspectives article describes catalytic water kinetics mineral reactions and strength rocks in terms coupled dissolution precipitation mechanisms a macro- nano-scale. The length scale coupling between steps depends fluid composition at mineral-fluid interface also differential stress. Stress-induced mass transport, dependent generation porosity by reactions, results dissolution-precipitation creep as principal mechanism rock deformation heterogeneous distribution infiltration into dry, strong deep crust leads to weak within strong, stressed host possibility significant local variations pressure. are discussed recrystallisation whereby transport most favourable nucleation sites determine texture resultant assemblages. Metamorphic differentiation is natural consequence under deviatoric stress similar may apply general pattern formation rocks.

NUMERICAL MODELING OF CHARRING MATERIAL ABLATION WITH CONSIDERING CHEMICAL REACTION, MASS TRANSFER AND SURFACE HEAT TRANSFER EFFECTS
Presently there is a little information that relates to heat shield systems. Also this information is not certain in so many cases. The main reason is that accurate calculations for measuring the sacrificing rate of various materials have not been obtained yet. Additionally, the real scale test has two disadvantages: high cost and low flexibility, and for each case we must perform a new test...
متن کاملProton-transfer reaction mass spectrometry.
Proton-transfer reaction mass spectrometry (PTR-MS) is a technique developed almost exclusively for the detection of gaseous organic compounds in air. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in air have both natural and anthropogenic sources. Natural sources include the emission of organic gases by living objects, both plants and animals. A well-known example, which is discussed later in this review,...

متن کاملSize dependence of rate-controlling deformation mechanisms in nanotwinned copper
Nanotwinned metals exhibit an unusual combination of ultrahigh strength, considerable ductility and enhanced rate sensitivity. We find that a Hall–Petch-type relationship closely fits the experiment data of activation volume as a function of twin spacing. The results suggest a transition of the rate-controlling mechanism from intra-twinto twin-boundary-mediated processes with decreasing twin la...
متن کاملDeformation Control and Mass Transfer in the Tunic of Halocynthia
Results: The increase in mass of the tunic became lower as the region was closer to the bottom of Halocynthia roretzi. However, the decrease in mass caused by the mechanical stimuli was not different between the adjacent regions. Also, the tunic of the siphon, the tubular tissue for influx and efflux of the seawater, increased the mass more slowly after the stimuli. The size of the layer coveri...
